Heroes With Heart 5K

American Heart Month and promote heart-healthy behavior, South Texas Health System Heart, the Valley’s only freestanding cardiac hospital and heart emergency center, invites you to take part in our Heroes with Heart 5K.

Taking place virtually this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this year’s run/walk is dedicated to the Valley’s own Heroes with Heart, our first responders, law enforcement officers and healthcare heroes who’ve survived and thrived in their battle with heart disease by adopting heart-healthy behaviors and more.

This year’s Heroes with Heart 5K is led by seven local ambassadors, including McAllen Assistant Fire Chief Juan A. Gloria (video below), who are sharing their experiences with cardiovascular issues in an effort to encourage people to be heart aware.
